My name is Bryan Liner and I am running for White County School Board in District 7. I’m a follower of Jesus Christ, a husband, and father of three sons. I am proud to be raising my family in White County. I was born and raised in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina but moved to Cookeville in 2004 to study civil engineering at Tennessee Tech. I met my lovely wife while obtaining my bachelor’s degree and upon graduation decided her hometown of Sparta was the best place to raise our family. My wife, Rachael (Redmond) Liner is a licensed teacher and has taught kindergarten, first grade, and second grade classes at Northfield and Findlay elementary schools for a combined 10 years. Next school year, our oldest son will be a senior in high school, our middle son will be starting middle school, and our youngest son will be entering third grade.
As a teacher’s spouse and parent with children at three different stages of their education, I see firsthand how decisions made by the school board affect students, teachers, and families every single day. I am running for the school board because I care deeply about the future of our schools and our community. I want to help ensure that every student receives a strong education in a safe, supportive environment, and that our teachers and staff have the resources they need to do their best work.
Professionally, I’m a registered professional engineer and I have spent my career in various positions in Tennessee’s bridge inspection program. I currently work in a leadership role in the State’s bridge performance office. My career has been built on problem-solving, accountability, and making thoughtful, data-driven decisions. Engineering has taught me the importance of planning for the long term, managing budgets responsibly, and always keeping safety and quality at the forefront. I believe those same principles are essential in guiding our school district.
Beyond my profession, I have spent the past 10 years teaching the second grade Bible class at my church. I have also coached a few seasons of rookie league basketball and warrior youth football. Working with young people has reinforced my belief that every child has unique strengths and deserves encouragement, structure, and opportunity to succeed.
It would be an honor to serve and to represent our families with integrity, transparency, and dedication.
Thank you for your consideration.
