It's time to play the music, it's time to light the lights as Warren Arts and the Park Theater raises the curtain on their 2026 Summer Theater Camps.

A pair of theater day camps will offer aspiring young actors a chance to explore the world of performing arts. Designed for children in 1st through 12th grades, the camps serve as a great introduction for newcomers and an opportunity for experienced youngsters to improve their skills.

"Theater camp is a great way to get more kids involved in theater," Sara Nuckols of Warren Arts said. "It gives kids who think this might be something they would like a taste of what being in a play is like without the two- to three-month commitment of a regular show. We have some kids that just do the camps every year who may not have time for a full show. We enjoy getting to make crafts, sing, dance and act for a week. It is a fun way to show kids what theater is about and teach them a little, too."

The camps will be held in two separate phases with Session 1 held from June 8-12 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. daily, culminating in a free performance for parents and friends Friday, June 12 at 5 p.m. at the Park Theater.

"Session 1 is 'Pure Imagination: A Broadway Junior Revue,'" Dana Sexton of Warren Arts said. "We will have small group classes on music, choreography, theater etiquette, stage and props."

The Broadway Junior Revue includes songs from several junior versions of Broadway favorites including "Seussical," "Shrek the Musical," "Beauty and the Beast" and "Frozen."

Session 2 is "101 Dalmatians KIDS" and will run July 20 - 24 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. daily in preparation for a free performance for parents and friends Friday, July 24 at 5 p.m. at the Park Theater. Based on the classic Disney film, "101 Dalmations KIDS" features a memorable score and many lovable (and despicable) characters.

"Theater camp is always a lot of fun here at the Park," Park Theater Assistant Manager Ashley Gillentine Wright said. "We love getting to see all of the talent and dedication from these kids and working with the Warren Arts crew to really foster a love of theater, performance and all that entails in the camp attendees. This year, we've adjusted the times and performance dates to work a little better for everyone's schedule, and we've added a sibling discount to help with costs for families. We definitely want to thank Warren Arts and all of the volunteers who help to make this camp such a success."

Cost for the camp is $100 plus tax per child. Each session is a separate camp, and children aren't required to attend both. A sibling discount is available with more information available by visiting the Park Theater box office at 115 W. Main St. or calling (931) 506-2787.
