Week two of the White County Youth Baseball and Softball League season is underway, and if the first couple of nights are any indication, the early shakeout is starting to take shape across multiple divisions.

In Coach Pitch Boys, a pair of teams are beginning to separate themselves at the top. National Guard stayed unbeaten with a 13-9 win over Del Toro Arms on Tuesday, matching Thompson Construction’s perfect start through the opening stretch. Just behind them, Piney Creek Lumber and Price Sluggers each picked up wins on Monday, keeping pace in what’s shaping up to be a tight race behind the early leaders. Brady’s Printing also added a win Tuesday in a 13-11 battle with Clean Cut Lawn Care, a game that showed just how thin the margin is across the middle of the standings.

Over in Competitive T-Ball, the trend of close games carried right into week two. Monday alone featured three one-run finishes, including Jaxito Burrito slipping past Whites Disposal 15-14 and Doyle Church of the Nazarene edging Randy Wallace Insurance 11-10. That same Doyle Church squad remains unbeaten through the first stretch of the season, joined near the top by Foothills and The Way Church, both of whom continued strong starts with wins on Tuesday. Passons Underground also added a narrow 9-8 victory, another example of just how competitive this division has been from top to bottom.

In Minor Girls play, two teams have quickly established themselves as the ones to chase. Franks and Reco both pushed their records to 3-0, with Franks delivering one of the more decisive performances of the week in a 12-0 win over Edd Rogers Valley Ford. Tennessee Septic kept themselves within striking distance with a win Monday, while Powerhouse Powerwash bounced back Tuesday with a 10-3 victory. As the standings begin to settle, the separation between the top tier and the rest is starting to show.

The Minor Boys division is telling a similar story at the top. Ben Dildine Tru North remained unbeaten, while Meeks Construction continues to hang close after splitting their early games this week — falling Monday before bouncing back Tuesday with a 6-3 win over Nate Card Construction. Turney Financial also picked up a win to stay in the mix, while Koala Insulation and Home Church continue to look for consistency as the schedule moves forward.

Two nights into the second week, the common theme across every division has been clear: offense is alive, games are tight, and the standings are just starting to take shape. With several unbeaten teams still holding their ground and a crowded middle in most divisions, the next few nights should go a long way in defining who settles in as contenders and who will be fighting to climb back into the race.
