You could call the Park Theater a "Keeper of the Stars" with the caliber of performers which appear at the historic venue, and tomorrow night, one more act will be added to the constellation of big-name performers who have visited McMinnville.
On Fire Concerts will present An Evening with Tracy Byrd Thursday, Aug. 5 at 7 p.m. Byrd burst onto the country music scene in the early '90s with hits like "Holdin' Heaven," "Someone to Give my Love to," "Lifestyles of the Not so Rich and Famous," and "Watermelon Crawl." Perhaps Byrd's biggest hit came with 1995's "The Keeper of the Stars" which propelled Byrd to No. 1 on the Billboard Album and Singles charts and won the Academy of Country Music Song of the Year award. The album on which it appeared, "No Ordinary Man," was certified Double Platinum with sales of over two million copies.
With over 30 hit singles to his credit, Byrd will bring to the sold-out Park Theater a set list packed with songs sure to be familiar to '90s country music fans. Byrd is one of a string of shows being brought to the Park Theater by On Fire Concerts over the coming months. On Thursday, Oct. 22, On Fire will present Strait Country - A George Strait Tribute featuring Howard Decker. On Friday, Oct. 30, Collin Raye will appear followed by fellow '90s country star Sammy Kershaw Thursday, Nov. 12, The Artimus Pyle Band Dec. 17, Gene Watson Feb. 13, 2027 and An Evening with Mark Chestnutt Feb. 19, 2027.
